Divorce Prayer

Father, You said that You hate divorce (Malachi 2:16). I do not desire, nor have I initiated, such action, but my spouse’s wishes are out of my hands. Even though the situation looks hopeless, I know that You are the God of all flesh and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). Therefore, Father, I stand in faith for the restoration of my marriage. Your Word declares that even the heart of the king is in Your hands and You can turn it away You please (Prov 21:1); even so, Lord, I ask that You turn my spouse’s heart back to me.

Take the scales from my eyes; show me where I have erred and contributed to his/her wanting to divorce me. I know that You can strengthen me to make the necessary changes in my behavior (Philppians 4:13).

I resist all anxiety regarding any aspect of my future because You promised never to leave me nor forsake me (Heb 13:5). Thank You for Your faithfulness to me. I now receive Your peace, which passes my understanding (Philippians 4:6-7). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
