Dear God, You have me the emotion of anger for Your righteous purpose; therefore, I know that becoming angry is not wrong. However, in Your Word You warned that I should not sin by letting anger gain control over me for in so doing, I give Satan a foothold in my life (Ephesians 4:26-27). There are times when I have such rage in me that I could harm someone to the point where it may not end well. But, I know that killing goes against your Commandments. I know that there are grave consequences to this sin, which is why I am petitioning to you for your strength to help me overcome this pent up anger and frustration. Calm my spirit O Lord. Protect my hands from doing something that I will regret later. Allow me to embody the fruits of the spirit, especially the one of self-control. In Jesus name that I pray, Amen.
