Loss Prayer

Lord, I am really hurt and disappointed because leadership terminated me from my job. I know it did not come as a surprise to You for You know everything. In fact Your Word says that all the days ordained for me were written in Your book before one of them came to pass (Psalm 139:16). I can only conclude then, that You have better plans for me; plans to help me and not to harm me, plans to give me a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).

Please forgive me for looking at my job as if it were my source, when in fact it was just a chosen channel of Your provision for a chosen season. Oh, for grace to trust You more! I know that You can give me favor with men and can open doors no man can close. Therefore, I will not worry or dwell on Satan-inspired scenarios of lack and potential homelessness. I will declare that all my needs are met according to Your riches in heaven (Philippians 4:19)–versus my paycheck.

Help me be sensitive to Your voice as You direct me to my next assignment. Whether it is employment with a company or ownership of my own business, one thing I am certain–You will never leave nor forsake me (Hebrews 13:5). In the name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
