Father, I come boldly to Your throne to ask for help in this time of temptation to spend unwisely (Hebrews 4:16). Your Word reminds me that the temptations that come into my life are no different from what others experience. But You are a faithful God. You will keep the temptation from becoming so strong that I can’t stand up against it. You promise to show me a way of escape so I will not give in to it (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Help me desire only those things You desire for me. I want You to be glorified in my finances. I desire to be a good steward of the resources You entrust to me. I understand that if I am untrustworthy with worldly wealth, then You will not trust me with the true riches of heaven (Luke 16:11).

I know that abundance and financial freedom will be mine as I discipline myself to abandon this and all other unwise purchases. Empower me to obey You now by walking away from this transaction. I thank You for the victory. I ask this in Jesus’ name, Amen.
